Budgeting shouldn't feel cold
Most budgeting apps are designed for one person staring at a spreadsheet. They're clinical, intimidating, and isolating. The exact opposite of what money management should be when you share your life with someone.
Hearth was born from a simple belief: managing money together should feel like an act of care, not a source of conflict. We built Hearth for couples who want transparency without tension, clarity without complexity.
Our approach is rooted in envelope budgeting, an intuitive method where every dollar gets a purpose. No complicated categories, no overwhelming dashboards. Just simple envelopes that both partners can see and use.
Our story
Hearth started when our founder, Marcin, got tired of the same argument: "Where did our money go this month?" After trying every budgeting app on the market — most of which were built for solo users with bank sync and endless charts — he built something different. Something warm, shared, and intentionally simple.
Hearth launched in 2024 as an iOS app and has grown entirely through word of mouth from couples who finally feel like they're on the same financial team. We're a small, independent team that cares deeply about the product we're building.
Our values
Warmth over precision
Budgeting should feel approachable, not clinical. We design for comfort first, data second.
Transparency by default
Shared budgets require shared visibility. Both partners see everything, always.
Simplicity is respect
Your time matters. Every feature earns its place by making your life easier, not more complicated.
Manual by design
We don't connect to your bank. Logging expenses yourself builds awareness that automation never can.
