Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Hearth (the "Service"), operated by Marcin Brzuzy ("we", "us", or "our"). By using Hearth, you agree to these Terms.
1. Using Hearth
You must be at least 13 years old to use Hearth. By creating an account, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you will keep your account credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Reverse engineer, copy, or create derivative works of the Service
- Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Service
- Share your account with anyone other than your designated partner
3. Partner Sharing
Hearth is designed for two users ("partners") to share a single budget. When you invite a partner, they will have full access to view and edit your shared budget data. You are responsible for inviting only trusted individuals.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Hearth offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription.
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- We do not offer refunds for partial periods unless required by applicable law
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
5. Your Content
You own the budget data you enter into Hearth. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your data solely to provide the Service to you.
We will never sell or license your budget data to third parties.
6. Service Availability
We aim to keep Hearth available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, introduce new features, or modify the Service at any time.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Hearth is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose.
Hearth is a budgeting tool and does not constitute financial advice. We are not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information in the app.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or financial loss.
9. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
